Privacy Policy

This policy describes the data collected during a visit, the purposes for which it is used, and the limited circumstances in which others may receive it. Use of Zapata County Court Docket signifies acceptance of these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained long enough to answer it. Messages remain within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers automatically receive certain technical details when a page loads:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help produce aggregate traffic information, such as popular pages and points where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the site function.

What We Do With This Data

  • Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
  • Sending your search requests to the right partner service
  • Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
  • Tracking down and fixing technical issues
  • Showing ads that may line up with your interests

No Court-Record Data on File

Zapata County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It provides general directions to the District Clerk, the 49th Judicial District Court, other local custodians, and re:SearchTX. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party case profiles, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention rules, and sharing practices govern information submitted to those tools. We do not control those practices, so review the applicable policy before searching.

Links to Other Websites

Throughout the site we link to clerk of court pages, trial court portals, statewide case-search systems, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Clicking any of those links takes you off our site. At that point, their privacy policy governs your visit. Read it before sharing any personal details.

Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. Notice that a minor submitted data will prompt its deletion.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary according to applicable Texas and federal privacy or consumer-protection law. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, concerns government records; Government Code § 552.0035 recognizes that judiciary access is instead governed by Supreme Court rules or other law, including Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12. Those court-access rules do not convert this private site's visitor data into a judicial record. At a minimum, you can:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. A changed version will appear here with its new effective date, so visitors should review it periodically.
